Fire damage to 1 bedroom at Romney Marsh Cottage
Acorn Builders were tasked with carrying out reinstatement works to the property following a fire caused by an electrical fault within the property.

Scope of works was to strip out the property of all fire damaged items.
Renewal of 1st floor joists and insulation within the property. Appoint a specialist approved dry ice contractor to clean smoke damaged timbers and brickwork to the property. Renewal of 3 timber windows to match the rest of the property. Renew staircase up to 1st floor.
Whole of property was re plaster boarded and plastered and decorated.
Vinyl flooring throughout ground floor of property.
Renewal of bathroom including sanitaryware, shower and wall tiling.
Special request by the client was for acorn to refurbish the existing oak kitchen. Bathroom vanity unit, dresser and bath panel. This required careful removal of items to be taken to an approved Joinery workshop in brookland Kent. The workshop then renovated the kitchen back to its pre incident condition and was then refitted back to its original glory.
Final main items were to renew the heating system and the electrical items within the property.
Works were finished in the allocated 10 week contract time leaving the client very happy with the works carried out.

Our team very much enjoyed having the noisy residents popping in to see us. We are used to dogs and cats coming on site but Peacocks are a new one even for Acorn Builders!!
Dear Acorn Builders,
I visited the cottage yesterday morning, and again this afternoon.
As you say, the project is now at completion, with the final cleaning to be done on Tuesday or so. I am very happywith everything that Acorn have done, throughout the project. They are a credit to themselves as owners/directorsofAcorn, but just as importantly, they are a huge credit also to both Sedgwick and ultimately the NFU.
I will be very happy to show the members of the family the pictures taken and if need be let them visit to see forthemselves.
