About this Project

Following a fire from a solar panel inverter on the roof of the property. Acorn Builders were approved by Lloyds Banking Group to carry a full reinstatement to a 3 floor property. Following the full strip out and removal of the roof covering we worked with the PHs with local planning to adapt the roof to incorporate 2 dormer windows allowing the loft space to be a working office as well as a bathroom with stunning views across the south downs. 

The roof was cut and pitched and tiled by our in house roofing team with Glass Reinforced Plastic roof coverings installed.

The property spec to a high standard with the interior design consisting of a country house feel. This included solid wood flooring throughout, oak carpentry and the country style kitchen including butler sinks and pot and pan racks. The policyholders wanted a modern and green element within the property. Working with one of our recommended electrical and renewable energy  contractors we installed solar panels to the bottom of the garden, an air source heat pump making this home self-sufficient. This was something the customer was keen to achieve to help in lowering their energy costs and also as the area does not benefit from mains gas. 

All the windows and doors are to a 2 shade finish conservatory Chartwell Green outside Irish Oak inside. A real feature of the property is the bifold doors opening out into the conservatory overlooking the gardens and with a view again of the scenery that is the south downs. 

Feature wallpaper murals  installed in the 2 children’s bedrooms as well as a room divider so that this can be pulled across so the room can be either one big bedroom or 2 smaller rooms.

Bathroom features a steam shower and beautifully finished bath.
